Current River Heritage Museum & Gift Shop Photos
The Current River Heritage Museum and Gift Shop located across the street from the Historic Ripley County Court House in downtown Doniphan, Missouri, is your gateway to the history and people who settled the County. Resources for finding local activities and attractions to make your visit to our community more memorable and enjoyable can also be found at the museum. Filled with two floors of exhibits, artifacts, and photographs, you can take a trip back in time and get a birds eye view of what life might have looked like for the early inhabitants of Ripley County.
Fishing, gigging equipment, and steel traps, arrowhead displays, lumbering and woodworking tools, a vintage kitchen with an assortment of utensils, dishes, and appliances, old guns, military and police uniforms, musical instruments, old cameras, antique tools and equipment, and a WORLD RECORD FISH are just a few of the exhibits. The museum is staffed with volunteers who can provide the information necessary to direct you to the sites and activities you are here to enjoy. In addition to the displays and information desk, a well stocked Gift Shop sells local quilts, crafts, history books, and a nice assortment of greeting cards. It is also the home of the Ripley County Historical Society and its Library.
