BALTZ LAKE is a small, quiet, peaceful, little lake located along Hwy 67 in Pocahontas, AR. Bass, Crappie, Catfish, and Bream all thrive in the lake. The fishing is normally good to excellent and there are some big ones lurking around as well. A boat ramp is available, as well as, a handicap fishing pier. There are two fishing piers available, as well as, a good portion of the bank that is cleared and will allow access for fishing. The lake is also a nice place for a picnic lunch or to just sit and take in the view. Sunsets can often present spectacular photo opportunities.
There is plenty of parking and the lake rarely reaches capacity. This is mostly due to the lake’s close proximity to Black River. Locals usually opt for the river as opposed to the much smaller lake. Baltz Lake is a nice little getaway if you’re by yourself or it’s great if you bring the whole family along as well.
Due to the small size of the lake and close proximity to residential areas, no gas motors are allowed and a curfew is in place.

would love to know when baltz lake was stocked and what was all put into it?
I talked to a friend that fishes there quite a bit. He said it has bass, crappie & perch. He wasn’t sure about catfish & he didn’t know if they stock it regularly. You might get in touch with the Pocahontas Chamber of Commerce to find out. Thank you.
